What is the Big Push? The Big Push is Ghana's largest road infrastructure programme, announced by President John Mahama in his State of the Nation Address (27 February 2025) and officially launched on 16 September 2025 at Afienya, Greater Accra. Its goal is to fix Ghana's roads, reduce the cost of doing business, and create jobs across all 16 regions. Parliament approved GHS 13.8 billion for 2025 and a further GHS 30 billion in the 2026 Budget.
What types of road work are happening?
How can I check on my road? Use the search box in the "Find Your Road" section above. Type the name of your town, road, or region. If you see your road listed, construction or rehabilitation should be underway. If you don't see it, it may be among the additional contracts not yet publicly disclosed.
How can I share a road update with my community? Click the green Share button on any road in the table. It will open WhatsApp (or your phone's share menu) with a pre-written message that you can send to family, friends, or community groups. You can also copy the page link and share it on Facebook, X (Twitter), or in any chat.
What does "multi-lot" mean? Large roads are often divided into sections called "lots." Different contractors work on different sections at the same time so the road gets done faster. For example, the Tamale Third Ring Road has 3 lots with 3 different contractors all working simultaneously.
How can citizens stay engaged?
